Dr. A. R. (Hany) Elsharkawi, Ph.D., P.Eng.
Dr. Elsharkawi is responsible for managing operations, exploration and government relations as well as business development in Egypt and other North African countries. He holds a B.Sc. (1967) from Alexandria University as well as a M.Sc. (1971) and Ph.D. (1975) from the University of Manitoba. He has several technical publications and has instructed many technical courses at universities and oil and gas organisations.
During his 33 year career, Dr. Elsharkawi has been involved in projects all around the world working with Shell, Mobil and Canadian Oxy. He is accredited with the major oil discovery in Canadian Oxy's Masila block in Yemen and other discoveries in Canada, Libya and Egypt.
Dr. Elsharkawi has held several key positions in the industry, most recently as the President of Canadian Petroleum North Africa, a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian Occidental Petroleum. He is a member of numerous professional organisations as well as the executive committee for Oil and Gas North Africa organisation, the Egyptian Canadian Oil Committee and is on the Board of Directors of Canada Egypt Business Council.

M.N. (Mike) Zayat, BSc Geology
Mike Zayat serves as both Vice-President, Exploration and General Manager, Calgary. During his professional career, spanning more than 30 years, he has held key technical and managerial positions with energy companies operating internationally. He is currently responsible for creating long term growth for Centurion by overseeing the exploration activities. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Geology from Alexandria University, Egypt.

Tony Anton has over thirty years of experience within the petroleum industry including founding his own company, Pyramid Energy, in the mid-90’s. Mr. Anton joined Centurion in 2002 as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in charge of its operations in Egypt, and Tunisia. In May 2006 he was appointed Director, Special Projects and in 2007 was given the additional role of Vice President, Engineering & Production. He holds a B.Sc. Degree in Petroleum Engineering and is a Member of Apegga, the Petroleum Society of CIM, the Society of Petroleum Engineers of AIME and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Mining Metallurgy and Petroleum where he served as President in 1992 – 1993.

Frederic Leemans
Frederic Leemans serves as Finance Manager for the Egyptian operations of Centurion and for the joint-venture with WASCO. He joined the Group in 2006 and has brought more than 13 years of international experience in senior financial positions for Engineering and Oil & Gas companies such as British Gas, Veolia Environment and Besix. Frederic qualified with a Masters degree in Business and Finance from ICHEC Brussels (Belgium) in 1993 and received the Award of the Minister of Foreign Trade (Belgium) a year later. He completed his academic qualifications in 2006 as Certified Management Accountant and Certified Financial Manager from the IMA (USA).

Leonardo Salvadori
Leonardo Salvadori joined Centurion in 2006 as Exploration and Business Development Manager. He brings more than 22 years of international exploration and new business development experience. He previously headed up large exploration departments for Eni in Egypt and Indonesia, and was responsible for several significant successes. Previously he worked in Libya, Norway and Italy within exploration and new ventures roles, focusing on international asset acquisition, portfolio development and corporate acquisitions, with the greatest emphasis on the Middle East, Africa, Asia and North Sea. He has a Geology Masters from Siena University, Italy.

Hamdy A-Sattar Heikal
Hamdy A-Sattar Heikal joined Centurion Petroleum Corporation as Operations Manager in January 2000. He started his career with the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO) where he gained excellent experience in petroleum and reservoir engineering, production, drilling, projects, contracts, agreements, and oil and gas operations. He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Petroleum Department of Cairo University, Egypt.

Refaat Zaki
Refaat Zaki is a Geo-scientist with over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas exploration and production industry. In 2001 he joined Centurion Petroleum Corporation as Geophysics Manager. Since August 2002 he has worked in Egypt in the capacity of Exploration Manager and in September 2006 he was appointed as Exploitation Manager of Centurion Petroleum Corporation. He received a B.Sc. in Geology and a Diploma of Higher Studies in Geophysics from Alexandria University, Egypt.
